Today’s article will be about a toturial on how to set up Twitter Tools in order to easily post your stories on your blog, while tweeting them on Twitter and sharing them on Facebook. This plugin made by Crowd Favorite is of great help when it comes to keep updated the people following you on these social websites.
- Point 1 : Link your blog to your Twitter account :
First of all you will need to search and install Twitter Tools on the “Plugins” -> “Add New” Section.
Once it is installed, go to your “Plugins” page.
“Activate” Twitter Tools, and click on “Settings”.
The plugin will ask you to log on to the Twitter Developers page. You will then create a new Twitter Application. Fill in the blanks according to you.
Once done, go to the “My applications”. Twitter Applications are on “Read-Only” by default, to change this go to the Settings tab, Application Type sections and change it to “Read and Write”.
Next, click on the “Details” tab and “Create my access token” and copy the “Consumer Key”, the “Access Token” and the “Access Token Secret” into the same Twitter Tools Options fields.
If everything goes alright, the Twitter Tools page should display a box telling you so.
Stay on the Twitter Tools Options page and fill it as followed (replace the tweet prefix) :
Twitter Tools will send tweets as your twitter account.
If you are not lucky, it might not work. If so, reset your “Keys” and “Access Token” in your Application on Twitter Developers change them in the Twitter Tools settings.
- Point 2 : Link Twitter account and Facebook page :
Go to your Twitter Account -> Settings -> Profile tab.
At the end of the page, click on : link Twitter to Facebook.
Enter your e-mail address and password in the box displayed, and select your page to link. It is more convenient to sign out from Facebook before doing these actions.
- Point 3 : Your blog posts will now automatically be transformed in tweets and page updates.
